The stone that built civilisations and defines luxury. Maheshwari Impex is Bangalore’s trusted destination for premium Indian and Italian marble — for flooring, countertops, wall cladding, staircases, bathrooms, and custom applications.
Marble is a metamorphic rock formed when limestone is transformed under intense geological heat and pressure, recrystallising into a dense, crystalline structure with characteristic flowing veining. In Bangalore, both Indian marble (Makrana white, Rajasthan green, Rainforest brown, Dungri pink — from ₹60/sq ft) and Italian marble (Carrara, Calacatta, Statuario, Botticino, Michelangelo — from ₹180/sq ft) are available. Marble is used for living room flooring, bathroom walls and floors, kitchen countertops (with careful use), staircases, and decorative features.
India’s most prestigious marble — the same stone used in the Taj Mahal. Quarried near Makrana in Rajasthan for over 500 years. A pure white to off-white marble with minimal grey veining and extraordinary luminosity. Considered the finest Indian marble and one of the world’s finest natural stones.
A bright white to warm white marble with subtle veining. Widely available and more affordable than Makrana. Very popular for Bangalore bathroom walls and floors.
A distinctive deep green marble with white and grey veining. A bold, statement stone for feature walls, bathroom accents, and decorative applications.
A dramatic marble with a rich dark background and contrasting white veining creating a rainforest-canopy visual effect. One of the most visually striking Indian marbles. Popular for Bangalore feature walls and premium bathroom applications.
A warm rose-pink Indian marble used for feature walls, bathroom vanity tops, and decorative applications. Creates a distinctive, warm, and feminine aesthetic.
A dense, near-black stone with fine grey veining. Dramatic and sophisticated. Used for feature floors, bathroom walls, and countertops in contemporary Bangalore luxury interiors.
Polished marble flooring in a Bangalore living room creates an incomparable sense of space, light, and luxury. Large-format slabs (minimum 60×120 cm) reduce grout lines and maximise the visual impact. White Italian marble reflects light maximally; warm Indian marble (Botticino, Dungri) creates a cocooning warmth.
The most popular marble application in Bangalore’s premium residential market. Full marble bathrooms — floor and all four walls in coordinated marble — create the ultimate spa experience. Use honed or antiskid marble on floors; polished marble on walls.
Marble stair treads with a polished or honed surface and bullnose edge profile create the most prestigious staircase possible. Popular in Bangalore’s independent houses and villas.
Marble kitchen countertops are visually extraordinary but require careful daily management — immediate wiping of acidic spills, regular resealing, and mindful use. For those who can maintain marble, the kitchen aesthetic is unmatched. For busy family kitchens with heavy Indian cooking, granite or quartz countertops are more practical.
Marble vanity tops are an excellent choice — less exposure to acidic spills than kitchen countertops, and the visual impact in the bathroom is magnificent.
Book-matched marble feature walls — where two adjacent slabs are opened like a butterfly to create a mirrored veining composition — are among the most dramatic design statements available in any material.

Marble is the material of permanence, beauty, and civilisation. The Parthenon in Athens, Michelangelo’s David, the Taj Mahal, the Vittoriano in Rome — the world’s most revered monuments across every culture and era have chosen marble as the material worthy of their ambitions. In Bangalore, marble has long been the defining material of the city’s most prestigious homes, temples, hotels, and commercial landmarks.
What makes marble irreplaceable is its combination of qualities no manufactured material fully replicates: the translucent depth of its crystal matrix, the biological uniqueness of its veining (no two slabs are identical), its natural thermal mass (cool underfoot even in Bangalore’s summer), and the way it interacts with light — glowing subtly from within.
Indian marble prices in Bangalore start from ₹60–₹80 per sq ft for basic varieties and range to ₹400 per sq ft for premium Indian stones like Makrana White. Italian marble starts from ₹180 per sq ft (Botticino, Carrara) and ranges to ₹2,500+ per sq ft for Statuario and premium Calacatta varieties. Installed prices include an additional ₹80–₹300 per sq ft for labour.
Indian marble (Makrana, Ambaji, Rajasthan Green, Rainforest) is quarried in India — primarily Rajasthan — and is generally more affordable (₹60–₹400 per sq ft). Italian marble (Carrara, Calacatta, Statuario) is imported from Italy’s Apuan Alps region and commands a premium (₹180–₹2,500+ per sq ft) for its superior translucency, consistent quality, and global prestige.
Marble can be used in Indian kitchens but requires careful daily management. Its calcite structure is vulnerable to acidic kitchen spills (tamarind, lemon, vinegar) which etch the polished surface permanently. For households with heavy Indian cooking, granite or quartz countertops are more practical. For those who love marble and maintain it diligently, the aesthetic reward is extraordinary.
For value: Botticino or Carrara (₹180–₹600 per sq ft). For dramatic impact: Calacatta with bold gold veining (₹400–₹1,500 per sq ft). For the ultimate luxury: Statuario white (₹600–₹2,500 per sq ft). For contemporary cool: Ice Berg Grey or Nero Marquina.
Seal marble annually with a penetrating stone sealant. Clean with only pH-neutral stone cleaners. Immediately blot (never wipe) acidic spills. Place felt pads under furniture legs. Use entrance mats to prevent grit scratching. Re-polish professionally every 5–10 years to restore the original mirror finish.
Polished marble is not recommended for outdoor use in Bangalore — it becomes slippery when wet and is subject to weathering. For outdoor feature elements, carved marble panels in covered locations (verandahs, covered courtyards) are appropriate. For outdoor flooring, granite, quartzite, or sandstone are better choices.
